One White Dove

When I drove by a cow farm
Looking all a mess
A flock of rock doves took off
Not knowing they would bless
But as I glanced up
To watch their beautiful flight
I noticed something wonderful
Only one was completely white
It didn't act any different
Though I could see its glory
It flew with the rest of them
And inspired this lovely story
It didn't fly at the top
To show itself the best
It flew just where it ought to
Moving along like the rest
Now, in my mind, I've come to know
This had a special meaning
That when we're out with our friends
We're so beautiful and gleaming
But we mustn't put ourselves above another
For then we'd look a fool
But to show them the way to go
That's a powerful tool
We stay right by their side
Not leaving or forsaking
Because they'll learn the truth
While stumbling and mistaking
Some would say it was just a gene
And drive right on bye
But, to me, when I looked
A message was clear in the sky
For I want to be that one, white dove
That helps guide the way
To stay by my friends and help them
Love, heal and pray
